Yes. Share a read-only link or embed a board, export PNG or SVG, print Story view to save as PDF, or export portable JSON for backup and re-import. People can duplicate your shared board into their own workspace.
New public hosted links last 30 days. Their server copies are removed automatically, while your local board stays on your device. You can also choose a self-contained link: it stores the snapshot in the URL, has no expiry, and cannot be revoked. Anyone with either kind of link can view and duplicate the snapshot.
Your editable boards live in this browser’s storage. Clearing PlotPast’s site data deletes them. Export a JSON backup first, and keep regular backups of work you want to preserve. A temporary share link is not a backup.
AI is optional. Connect your own OpenRouter key to draft a timeline. You can also copy a prompt to ChatGPT or Claude and import the resulting JSON. Connected AI services receive your prompt and relevant board context. Review generated dates and sources before relying on them.
